Introduction
The Dance Company Conservatory staff have been working hard to create a plan of action which allows us to finish out our 2019/2020 season in the safest and most attainable way possible. We have diligently followed the orders of Governor Whitmer, as well as recommendations by the CDC, to do our part in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. While these unfortunate circumstances have interrupted our ability to provide face-to-face dance education, our staff continues striving to provide quality instruction to our students. In addition to the Google Drive directory of instructional and review video content, our teachers have created a schedule of daily live stream classes on Facebook and Instagram. These live stream classes will continue for the remainder of our closure, and will move to incorporate Zoom. Moving forward, we will continue to adapt and overcome in order to fulfill our mission of providing quality dance education at an affordable rate in an excellent facility.
Recital Season (July 13 - August 29)
Our May 16-17 recital at McMorran will be postponed. The recital will now take place Saturday, August 29 at 1:00 and 6:00 PM at McMorran. On-stage dress rehearsals will take place Thursday and Friday, August 27-28. Finale rehearsals will take place in the studio Monday-Wednesday August 24-26 from 5:30-7:00 PM.
Fall/Spring classes will resume Monday, July 13 and continue through Friday, August 21. The majority of our classes will run on the same day and time as before. However, a few classes needed to move based on teacher availability. Please review the schedule below to ensure your class is not affected.
It is important that our dancers come back ready to pick up where we left off. Please continue to review your materials in Google Drive throughout the next few months, as well as dance at home to maintain your technical development. Finally, it is crucial that families stay committed to all of their classes and strive to have good attendance during these last 6 weeks of class.
