Tayte Joiner

Tayte began her dance training at the age of 12 at The Dance Company Conservatory, training in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, and contemporary, as well as dancing on the competition team. Ballet being her favorite form of dance, Tayte started dancing at many other ballet studios in Michigan as well as The Dance Company before later attending her very first summer intensive at Ballet Detroit where she trained in the Vaganova method, and then the next year attending Ballet Chicago's summer intensive where she trained in the Balanchine technique. Tayte got to learn all the ins and outs of ballet from many amazing Ballet Masters and guest teachers. She also got to learn many new things such as the Horton technique (a type of modern dance) and Spanish dancing. Later that summer, Tayte was offered a spot to train in their studio company year-round.

Tayte trained with Ballet Chicago for two years on a full scholarship. She learned from many outstanding teachers such as Ballet Chicago's founder Daniel Duell who is a former principal dancer with New York City Ballet, and many other teachers who danced professionally at places such as Los Angeles Ballet, St. Louis Ballet, the Royal Danish Ballet, and Suzzane Faralle Ballet. Along with learning and performing original choreography from Ballet Chicago's resident choreographer, Tayte also had the privilege to learn and perform many of  George Balanchine's original ballets such as Balanchine's Nutcracker, Balanchine's Swan Lake, Stars and Stripes, Concerto Barocco, and many more. Besides the Balanchine and the Vaganova method, Tayte has also trained in Russian ballet and has taken classes in other ballet styles such as Bournoville and Checchetti. In her quest to constantly keep learning and widening her horizons she has also taken master classes with American Ballet Theater dancer and actor Sascha Radetsky, the founder of "A Ballet Education'' David JW King, and many more, she is currently being certified in yoga and has also taken a multitude of gyrokenesis, and pilate classes.

Tayte has assisted in teaching dance to middle schoolers at Holland Woods Middle School and has also been an assistant teacher at The Dance Company Conservatory before teaching her own classes. Tayte is excited to play a part in shaping these young dancers' minds, and to give them a safe space to celebrate themselves, exceed their own expectations, be creative, and ultimately fall in love with dance.
